Get Together Mini Portable Bluetooth Speaker is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 225.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great sound +sound +bass (sometimes too much, but it's okay) +powerbank + bt range is amazing! +battery life! However - you can't control volume of audio prompt, and in the middle of the night it's much too loud - when operating on mini jack and watching movies, when there is silence, it kinda turns off, and when the sound starts again (somebody speaks) it takes a half a second to turn again, so it cuts off beginning of sounds - the charging port is BAD, mine started getting loose after 6 months, and broke completely after another 6. As I lost a receipt, I couldn't fix it under warranty, and authorized Marley service asked 50$ for a repair. Poland. So I repaired it myself, and I can say this - terrible access, and very fragile port, without any protection. This was made to break easily. - also audio jack port started getting loose recently If not the port, the speaker is amazing. But this is my second Marley product, and second one that is so fragile. I don't think I'll trust this company with my money again

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mediocre sound, too large bass, broken micro-USB Bought it, sounds nice on lower volumes, sounds terrible on higher volumes, not appropriate for any kind of music. And worse, the micro-sub charging port broke down after a year. Will not buy again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not worth I’ve had the speaker for about 2 years now, amazing speaker. Until the charging port broke, I can’t charge it at all now because the pins inside are broken.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Charger port broken As many other reviews have stated, after maybe a year or two of use the charger port pins have broken and can no longer be charged! Really sad seeing as this company backs themselves in using sustainably sourced materials. There’s an awful lot of get together speakers now going into landfill with no use... so sad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great speaker until port broke & doesnt chare:( Purchased 2 years ago. USB port/pins broke after a year. Husband replaced but overtime cant get a good charge (about 2 songs even tho charging for 3 days). After reading other reviews this is obviously a huge problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Charging I've owned this speaker for a little over a year. It's a great speaker, but I am very disappointed that I can't charge it anymore. The pins broke on the inside, so I tried to buy a USB to USB cable, but turns out it's only to charge other devices from the speaker. Now I'm left with a brick with no use. Because of this I don't think I'll be purchasing another Marley brand speaker. I should have paid a little extra and got something that would last longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks like My speaker has bricked its self Got this speaker about a year ago was fairly happy with it as nice looking speaker and sound quality was good . Except the hiss sounds when on low volume , plus if the volume too low on aux input it the sound cuts in and out . Dont get me started on the lady who shouts out charging . I had this plugged into my computer and didnt ever move it from the desk and only used it very mininal over the year . Now it dosent seem to charge and the red light just flashes .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great sound, until you can no longer charge it Loved this product, at first, because the sound on the speaker and the look is great. However, the charging port was poorly made and was broken after not too long. I thought it was just me, but after seeing these reviews.. apparently not. If you are going to make such a poor charging port, make it so you can charge it with the USB port. The USB port is only to charge other devices! I DO NOT recommend this product: you can find a great speaker like this with a proper charger somewhere else. The fact I can't charge it so now it is a $150 brick of junk, ruins it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Decent sound, but charge port/charger didn’t last Charger/charging port now broken after only 6 months...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great sound but low quality construction I bought this speaker 2 years ago and I LOVED it. However, and it looks like from reading some of these reviews it happens ALOT after only 2 months the micro USB port broke. So therefore I could no longer charge and use it. I recently tried to replace the USB port and it didn't work out to well. Where can I just find a replacement switchboard complete with the ports attached?????? I would love to be able to continue to use my speaker and as a single mom of 3 I cant just shell out $140 every 3 to 6 months!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice designwise and soundwise The reason I wanted to write a review is because I read so many negative comments regarding the "lady" with the annoying voice and actually, my opinion is that it is not that bad. For once, it didnt make me regret buying it at all. It is not as frequent as it seems from the reviews, nor as loud. So, I woudnt be too worried about that. It does not wake us up at night nor it makes us jump in our seats! Great speaker to enhance your home decoration!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Annoying voice cuts in and charging port has poor Great bass sound. I appreciated the bamboo aesthetic. Within weeks, it had to be replaced because the charging port broke because it's so poorly designed. An incredibly annoying voice regularly cuts in to the songs to tell me iits 'charging '. What a ridiculous feature, which can't be turned off. So yourselves to play music without it being plugged in. So, two years later, it just won't turn on. Maybe the battery has died of that stupid charging port is broken. What a shame.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed 2 1/2 years into ownership and...you guessed it, the charging port is no longer functional. I cannot recommend this product. The (female) voice that barks out of this unit can be startling but I dont have to worry about that anymore. Sadly this expensive speaker is heading for the trash bin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outstanding sound, cool look I enjoy my Mini, the bass is sweet, it reallly kicks. I like the look of it and it's the perfect weight. My only negative is the charging port in the back is very finiky - the Charge 5V - 2A doesn't stay in. I'm in my third year with it and am seeking a new charger for the Charge Out 5V - 1A which is the top option, the middle option to charge won't accept my charger. My charger keeps falling out. I gave it a 4 because of the sound. Once I finally get the thing charged it sounds really good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Product I bought this product less than a year ago and now all of the sudden the USB charging port is broken and I can't charge it nor use it anymore. Before a voice would interrupt my music and say "charging" but now it doesn't even charge or sound at all. I emailed the company and never got a reply back either. I am extremely sad because I really like to listen to music specially in these times that I have to be at home 24/7 and then I can't even use my speaker

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bluetooth I have had Love it. Connects to tv without need of extra surround sound. Battery went bad after 2 yrs and got the new one for free lifetime warranty just as it states. Thanks Marley
Date published: 2020-04-24
Rated 1 out of 5 by from ZERO STARS There is a voice that will interrupt the music to tell you it is "charging"or "pairing"or "powered on" every 30 seconds. You can't even listen to a song without the music getting cut off. Whoever approved of this should be fired immediately. So disappointed in this Marley product I'm very unlikely of buying anything with the Marley branding.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very muddy, heavy bass I got this in December and chose it over JBL and Sony XB Bluetooth speakers without testing them first. If you get the chance, test out what speaker you're going to purchase before buying to know for sure you'll be happy with it. I was really drawn in by the aesthetics and how environmentally friendly this company works to not use new plastics. Beautiful on the outside, works well as a piece for your house, but the sound quality disappoints me. It's a very loud speaker, and using in my apartment doesn't help when I want to listen to it at night or if I want to listen to voice audio because the bass is so intense it becomes quite muddy unless you're leaving the back of the speaker pointing in more of an open space. If this speaker is right up against a wall, I basically cuts everything but more bass and is difficult to make out spoken words. This speakers good for someone who's going to be pumping out really bass heavy music. I was fooled into thinking it would naturally do stereo sound on its own having 4 speakers on the front, but you can do that if you pair two of them together which I don't want to own two of these. It's okay when I play classical music with much less bass in it, but I don't like the sound quality for about anything else. When I go to turn it up by one notch, it goes from very quiet to very loud, there's no intermediate, and no matter the volume even if it's quietly playing at night, will blast it telling you it's powering off which takes about 5 minutes to do after not playing any noise through it. Then you have to turn it back on which you can't just push the power button, you have to hold it for about 5 seconds or longer, I wish there was a longer standby mode and the option to turn off the voice prompts. Battery life is good as I only use when I'm in the bathroom or kitchen, I've charged it once in almost two weeks. It sounds better outside than inside because of the massive passive radiator on the back, but also a delicate build with no protection or water proofing on the drivers, which in turn makes it not ideal to bring outside your house, you could damage this baby quite easily if you're not paying attention. This speaker is for the aesthetics and not for the sound quality in my opinion. It connects cast to Bluetooth and doesn't have a horrible lag when watching videos, but it's no Sony XB series. Personally I wouldn't recommend to someone else after living with it for a few months and would rather give it as a gift to someone who really wanted it so I can move on. If maybe they had it paired to an app where you could control a graphic equalizer in real time it could be put to better use but I wouldn't buy this product again. If you're not so worried about sound quality and want to be environmentally conscious by buying less new material this would work great as the aesthetics of its looks are still beautiful for a Bluetooth speaker. Very disappointed. Try it in a store before purchasing is my advice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Returning due to the artificial speech prompts Looks good, sounds good. But some artificial woman's voice TALKS all the time. "PAIRING" "CHARGING" "SPEAKER OFF". This stupid voice breaks into the music and spontaneously talks an hour after the music is off. It's repulsive. And it can't be turned off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Charging broken I do not recommend this product. I had it less than 2 years and when it’s plugged in to charge, the speaker does not charge and a repetitive voice constantly informs you that it is charging. It is stuck in a loop and is absurdly annoying to hear. Don’t be fooled by this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the speaker the charger sucks My father bought me this speaker for Christmas. And I love it. I have ms so I’m stuck at home all the time and I use the speaker all the time until I broke the charging cable. I don’t know what kind of cable it is to replace.?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great speaker overall but problems with charging I bought the get together mini speaker 2 years ago and I've been using it regularly for 2 or 3 months and suddenly the micro USB charging port is broken and wondering what my options are because it's not easy finding someone to fix it in my area, this is my problem

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sounds I’ve had this speaker for three years and me and my Family absolutely love the sound of this little guy just awesome

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great speaker but with a serious flaw Awesome sound and the speaker looks great but voice prompts are to me VERY loud. And as far as I know there is no way to turn them off which is a pretty dumb design in my opinion. I wouldn't buy the speaker if I knew about that issue. I had to stop using the speaker in a bedroom as it was waking me up when it was turning off. So defo buy it if you don't mind it shouting "powering off" or "powering on" at you at the level of 84 decibels (based on a mobile app reading so it might be inaccurate)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved before.... love it more NOW! My children bought a mini for my birthday which along with a subscription to Spotify, really renewed my love for music. The sound is great, the portability wonderful, the look is clean couldn't have been happier until...... the charge port was damaged by me not pulling the cord out prior to moving the mini. I ordered a USB cord for the "charge out" port but it doesn't work for charging. I confirmed this by looking on their site ( which I should have done in the first place) and discovered other people had the same issue as me. They were referred to a phone number so I figured I had nothing to loose and called. The service I received was great. I was given a claim no. And instructions to return my unchargable mini. I was told it would be replaced after I told them it was two years old. I was the reason for the charge port issues but they still sent me a new mini. Who provides service like that!! I am a fan for life!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Charger breaks fast Great sound but the USB charger is already broken. So is another one of my friends that had hers repaired. Seems like an issue..not the only one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sound The sound is great. My only complaint is that there is no way to turn off the overly loud voice prompt. The low power warning sound is also ridiculously loud. I've stopped using the speaker in the office because of this. Great speaker at home, though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Big sound, small package but... The voice prompt and the fact that its volume can't be changed, it can't be deactivated, it interrupts playback to tell you it's charging AND the fact that it's not part of any firmware that is modifiable is really the biggest caveat of an otherwise good sounding speaker. It really is a major design flaw. Many report a failing mini USB port, but mine is permanently plugged in so I cannot report on any weakness in that regard.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good speaker, small issue I bought this speaker a couple weeks back and love how clear the sound of music or relatively anything that I play out of it sounds. I notice whether connected to bluetooth or through an AUX cord, that at a low volume it makes a sort of screeching noise. I am unsure of how or if you can fix it. It is really bothersome. I may try to return it. If I could relate the sound to something, it would be similar to a mouse making a continuous, low, squeal. Overall, the speaker would be good for parties if you wanted to blare music.

I read a lot of complaints about the volume of the female voice. Has that issue been resolved? I want to buy 2x mini's because of the pairing, because the normal speaker doesnt have pairing. Is that correct? Or is there a way to lower/adjust the voice?

Asked by: JJCV
I will unfortunately have to get rid of this otherwise great sound device due to the constant intrusion of detestable and unwanted voice messages. This is a terrible feature

It seems a lot of people are bothered with the female voice, including me.It is the only thing ,which keeps me buying one, every time someone ask a question about it, the answer is same.Is there going to be a way in the future to change/turnoff the voice?

Asked by: Maxim
House Of Marley has states there is no way to turn of voice prompts and no way to change the voice either. It's not a bad sounding voice but the bass and volume kills you if it turns off in the middle of the night.

Your website suggests that we should pair two Get Together Minis for stereophonic sound. I get the concept but does this mean the individual unit's woofers and tweeters play in mono? I was thinking of upgrading but don't need just a bigger mono speaker.

Asked by: Jonathan B
Thank you for your question. The speakers individually will provide you with Stereo sound, you can pair two of them together they will provide you with two channel stereo sound.

My get together mini doesn't seem to charge properly. The red light initially goes on and then turns off within the space of a minute and doesn't seem to charge up, even when left plugged in. Is this a known fault?

Hi, I think the red light should stay illuminated during charging

I want a bluetooth speaker that has great sound quality - the Get Together Mini looks good, but I will use the speaker in a bathroom that gets quite steamy.  Can you confirm how steam resistant the Get Together Mini is for bathroom use?

Asked by: GregS
Dear GregS, Thank you for your question. The Get Together Mini is not suitable for your needs. We would suggest a waterproof speaker: - No Bounds https://www.thehouseofmarley.co.uk/no-bounds-bluetooth-speaker.html - No Bounds XL https://www.thehouseofmarley.co.uk/no-bounds-xl.html Kind regards, Team Marley
