After flying under the radar as a high school recruit -- despite being named Mr. Basketball in Ohio -- Trey signed to play his college basketball at the University of Michigan. After an impressive freshman year, and interest from NBA teams, Trey decided to return to Michigan to improve his game and achieve team goals. In his sophomore season, Trey grew to be a household name in Michigan and around the country. Trey became the first player in Michigan history to win every post-season MVP award, and was named First Team All-American and Big Ten Player of the Year. In the NCAA Tournament, Trey led Michigan to its first Final Four and Championship Game appearance in 20 years. Trey declared for the 2013 NBA Draft and was picked 9th Overall and plays for the Utah Jazz.
I Live Marley by continuing to listen to Bob’s music… there is meaning invested in his music that not many other artists have now and it motivates me to become a better person and better in basketball, even though he wasn’t a basketball player.
Music is what I use to get into that zone, that place where I feel untouchable. Music is so important before my games because it calms me and allows me to concentrate on all the important things and get rid of all the distracting noise around trying to break my focus. I am a fan of many different genres and think they all have their perfect time and place.
