Anatomy of the House of Marley Lion Crest

The lion has long been a symbol of pride and power, especially in the Rastafarian community, so naturally the king of the jungle takes center stage in the House of Marley lion crest. We use the Marley lion crest to identify distributors and retailers of the House of Marley on-ear headphones, in-ear headphones and over-ear headphones, but it also symbolizes that a product is high quality, made with earth friendly materials, and follows the tenets of Bob Marley.

The design elements in the House of Marley lion crest are rooted in Rastafarianism. Based on the Lion of Judah, which represents the key figure in Rastafarian, Emperor Haile Selassie I, the Marley lion crest features two mighty lions flanked by a ribbon that reads, “Marett Tsehai Dam.” This Amharic phrase translates to, “Land, Sun, Blood” – the basis of the well-known Rasta colors of green, yellow and red.

The House of Marley lion crest also features the Ethiopian Coptic Cross at its center, overlaying the a pattern of green, yellow and red, and topped off by a regal crown. These elements reinforce the importance and majesty of the Marley name, guaranteeing a quality House of Marley product.

Bob Marley Charity Teams Up With Lyric Culture and Homemint for Good Cause

The Bob Marley charity, 1Love, and the House of Marley are always looking for new ways to advance the causes that Bob Marley would have found worthwhile in his lifetime. Recently, 1Love worked on collaborating with two lifestyle brands, Lyric Culture and Homemint, the results of both will offer new products to Marley fans and benefit charitable causes at the same time.

Lyric Culture is a clothing, jewelry and accessory brand that bases all of its designs on the lyrics and imagery of some of the most iconic songs in the history of music. With help from the Bob Marley charity, along with Ziggy and Cedella Marley, the creative heads at Lyric Culture have created a line of men’s t-shirts that will feature the immortal words of some of Marley’s greatest songs. “My family and I love that through this collaboration with Lyric Culture we will be celebrating fathers around the world through our dad’s words while giving children access to music education,” said Cedella Marley.

The benefits from the 1Love and Lyric Culture clothing collaboration will go to one of the biggest benefactors of the Bob Marley charity, Little Kids Rock. This non-profit organization helps to build music programs in school that don’t have enough money to replenish their students with new instruments, sheet music and instructors. The line of t-shirts will be for sale in Bloomingdale’s locations across North America and be available for purchase on Lyric Culture’s site until August.

Cedella Marley was also involved in another recent partnership benefiting the Bob Marley charity. Teaming up with Justin Timberlake’s homeware company HomeMint, Cedella selected a Jamaican-inspired print by photographer Daniel Fuller to be included in the collection’s latest line. HomeMint will be donating $50 from the sale of each print to the 1Love charity, who will distribute the funds to its well-selected group of beneficiaries.

The House of Marley hit the Philippines with a bang as the brand has officially landed its comfortable earbuds, noise reducing headphones, and portable audio systems in the Pearl of the Orient Seas. Launching the brand with a celebration at Prive Luxury Club in Global City, Taguig, the event invited media, fashion designers and celebrities to see just what’s in store for Marley headphones in the Philippines.

The landing of Marley headphones in the Philippines marks another momentous moment for the brand’s noise reducing headphones and portable audio systems, as it is the company’s second venture into the Asian market. After a successful start in Hong Kong, The House of Marley signed a deal with JERM Marketing, Inc. that will see comfortable earbuds like Smile Jamaica and on-ear headphones like Positive Vibrations distributed to retailers such as S&R, Anson’s Appliance, Powerbooks, National Book Store and Duty Free.
